The roof of a house gives it its final finish and its prime job is to protect the house from the elements. Depending on how many floors are intended the ceiling can be a solid concrete slab (for double storey or more). For ceilings which do not need to take weight THL recommends a traditional Swahili ceiling which is attractive and functions perfectly and completely protects the rooms below. Alternatively, and again for a non-weight baring ceiling would be the modern Gypsum ceiling boards on galvanized channels or hardboard on timber slats.
